Arcoxia 60 mg 28 Tablets
A selective cox-2 inhibitor [NSAID] that has no effect on platelet function inhibits gastric prostaglandin synthesis. It has an anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatoid effect.Indications:
โข Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
โข Ankylosing spondylitis.
โข Relief of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
โข Relief of acute pain.
โข Acute gouty arthritis.
Points of interest:
โข Do not take aspirin for pain relief while using this medication.
โข Do not take this medication if you are dehydrated, due to severe vomiting or diarrhea.
โข Stop this medication and tell your doctor immediately if you develop swollen ankles, difficulty breathing, chest pain, black stools, or dark vomit.
How to use:
1 tablet daily after meal.

Etoricoxib.
Side effects:
โข Dizziness.
โข High blood pressure.
โข Palpitations.
โข Fluid retention.
โข Raised liver enzymes.
Cautions:
โข Patients with most at risk of developing GIT complications.
โข Patients with significant risk factors for cardiovascular diseases should only be treated with etoricoxib with special and careful consideration.
โข Administration of etoricoxib may impair renal function, especially under conditions of compromised renal perfusion.
โข Any patients with any signs or symptoms of liver dysfunction or in whom an abnormal liver function test has occurred should be monitored.
โข Etoricoxb should be discontinued in patients with abnormal liver function tests (3x upper the limit of normal).
โข Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulceration/ GI bleeding.
โข Contraindicated in patients with active sulfonamide sensitivity.
โข Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction.
โข Contraindicated in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
โข Contraindicated in patients with renal impairment.
Interactions:
โข Rifamycins: The plasma concentration of etoricoxib is reduced by rifamycins.
โข Ethinylestradiol: etoricoxib increases the plasma concentration of ethinylestradiol.
โข Digoxin: etoricoxib increases the plasma concentration of digoxin.
