Hyoscine ButylbromideAn anticholinergic agent that exerts a spasmolytic action on the smooth muscles of the GIT and other different sites. It doesnโt affect the central nervous system because itโs not able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier.
Indications:
โข Irritable bowel syndrome accompanied by pains.
โข Motion sickness.
โข Bladder or intestinal spasms.
โข Spastic constipation.
โข Period-accompanied pains.
โข Excessive respiratory secretion.
How to use buscopan 10mg:
One tablet three times a day or as directed by the physician
Should Buscopan tablets be taken before or after meals
It is preferable to take the tablets after food.
Active Ingredients:
Hyoscine Butylbromide.
Side effects:
โข Constipation.
โข Transient bradycardia.
โข Urinary retention.
Cautions:
โข Severe, unexplained abdominal pain that persists or worsens or occurs together with symptoms like fever, nausea and vomiting, decreased blood pressure, fainting, or blood in stool.
โข Should be used with caution in conditions characterized by tachycardia, cardiac insufficiency or failure, and in cardiac surgery. It may accelerate the heart rate.
โข Should be administered with caution to patients with hypoxia as it is possible that the anticholinergics may reduce sweating.
โข Contraindicated in patients with glaucoma.
โข Contraindicated in patients with Chronic lung disease.
