Meloxicam
Mobic 15 mg is an analgesic that belongs to a group of medicines called NSAIDs which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent that blocks the activity of Cyclooxygenase enzyme thus preventing the formation of prostaglandin. Itโs more specific to block COX-2 than COX-1. Which leads to analgesic and inflammatory effects.
Mobic 15 mg ndications:
โข Pain and inflammation in rheumatic diseases.
โข Exacerbation of osteoarthritis (Short term only).
โข Ankylosing spondylitis.
Points of interest:
โข To reduce stomach upset, take mobic 15 mg with food.
โข Do not take aspirin for pain relief while using this medication.
โข Do not take mobic 15 mg if you are dehydrated, due to severe vomiting or diarrhea.
How to use mobic 15 mg:
7.5-15 mg daily.
Active Ingredients:
Meloxicam.
Side effects:
โข Nausea, dyspepsia, raised liver enzymes, diarrhea.
โข Headache, dizziness, salt and fluid retention, hypertension.
Cautions:
โข Contraindicated in people with asthma.
โข Contraindicated in people with kidney disease.
โข Contraindicated in people with active gastro-intestinal ulceration or bleeding.
โข Elderly, and people with heart failure, ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, cerebrovascular disease, and uncontrolled hypertension.
Interactions:
โข NSAIDs: the risk of side-effects increases when meloxicam is used with
other NSAIDs.
โข Quinolones: enhanced the risk of convulsions.
โข Dabigatran: increase the risk of bleeding when meloxicam is given with dabigatran.
โข SSRIs: the risk of bleeding is increased.
