Hyoscine ButylbromideScopinal tablet Relieves the pain of stomach cramps by helping your gut to relax.
The medicine works very quickly.
Painful cramps should ease within 15 minutes.
Scopinal tablet uses:
โขRelieves painful stomach cramps, including those linked with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
โขIt can also help bladder cramps and period pain.
Points of interest:
โขDo not give Scopinal syrup to children under the age of 6 years.
Scopinal dose:
โขThe usual dose for stomach cramps (or cramping pain) in adults and children aged 12 years and over is 2 tablets taken 4 times a day.
โขFor children aged 6 to 11 years, the usual dose is 1 tablet taken 3 times a day.

Hyoscine Butylbromide.
Side effects:
โขDry mouth.
โขConstipation.
โขBlurred vision.
โขFast heart rate.
Cautions:
โขIf you're self-treating with Scopinal, do not take it for longer than 2 weeks without checking with a doctor.
โขDo not take Scopinal if you have:
โขHad an allergic reaction to Hyoscine Butylbromide or any other medicines in the past.
โขA rare type of glaucoma called angle-closure glaucoma (Hyoscine Butylbromide can increase the pressure in the eye and make your glaucoma worse)
a very enlarged bowel
โขMyasthenia gravis (an illness where the muscles become weak and tire easily)
Interactions:
Take at least one hour before antacids or certain anti-diarrhea drugs (e.g., kaolin-pectin type).
